Pat McAfee appeared on All the Smoke with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes and he talked his talk. McAfee remembered how people doubted him in the beginning, but he grinded it out to get to where he is today. His story is very inspirational if you are familiar with his origin.

Pat McAfee was a punter for the Indianapolis Colts. Punters don’t usually achieve notoriety or gain acceptance from their teammates. But it was always clear that Pat was different. Pat first gained notoriety, or infamy, for being arrested for public intoxication. Apparently he was on a bye week and was so drunk that he jumped into an Indianapolis Canal.

He was suspended for a week, but surprisingly he survived the scandal. Not only did he survive, but he thrived. Pat used that new found notoriety to launch his stand-up comedy career. Then he just kept progressing until he got to where he is today.

Due to his journey, it’s understandable that he would be cocky. He definitely was in this interview especially when speaking on the ESPN executive that he called out. He made it very clear that the executive is not his boss and that was a just a warning shot and not necessarily a call out. Right now, Pat McAfee is on top of the world and he is not afraid to say whatever is on his mind.
