Eden is a movie about the human trafficking business or the sex slave trade.  The story is loosely based on the life Chong Kim, who is a trafficking survivor that was captive from 1995-1997.  The movie was directed by Melanie Griffins and stars Jamie Chung as Eden.  The film is about the sex slave trade for young girls, but it’s different because it’s located in America.  Apparently it’s hard to believe that this could happen in America, but people better be conscious or possibly fall victim.

This movie should serve as a wake-up call to Americans.  It’s like we are too naive think extreme injustices happen in our country when many times we perpetrate injustices in other countries.   But the same things happen everywhere it’s just that we have nicer amenities.  It  was obvious via the interview that the interviewer didn’t place much stock in the epidemic because she asked Chong Kim if she thought hundreds or thousand are suffering a similar plight.  Hundreds? This woman was captive in the 90’s, so it’s ridiculous to think that the trade hasn’t grown.  But people won’t learn.  This isn’t something that will be on the news  because no one wants to know that kind of truth.  But just because we don’t want to know doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist.
